IPC RELEASES BOOK-TO-BILL RATIOS FOR JANUARY 1993

 LINCOLNWOOD, Ill., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC) has released the U.S. Printed Wiring Board Industry Book-to-Bill Ratio for January 1993. The Book-to-Bill Ratio for January 1993 increased sharply to 1.07 from 1.01 last month.
 Sales billed in January 1993 increased 2.1 percent over January 1992, and orders booked for the same month showed an increase of 6.4 percent over 1992.
 As compared to 1992, 1993 bookings of PWBs are up 6.4 percent year-to-date. 1993 shipments of PWBs are up 2.1 percent year-to-date.
 The information provided includes data both rigid and flexible PWB manufacturers who participate in IPC's Monthly Statistical Program. These participants represent over 40 percent of the U.S. domestic printed wiring board market.
 The IPC, with over 1900 member companies worldwide, represents manufacturers and users of printed boards, flat cable, discrete wiring, hybrid circuits, and companies that assemble printed boards. Membership also includes suppliers to the industry, colleges and universities, and over 60 government agencies.
 IPC releases this book-to-bill information on a monthly basis.

These participants represent over 40 percent of the domestic PWB market. IPC has been collecting and compiling this data for over 35 years.
