IP to sell forestland.

International Paper (IP), Stamford, Connecticut, USA, plans to sell 1.5 million acres of southern United States forestland over the next five years through Southeast Timber Inc., a company controlled by IP, with an interest held by a private investor. As part of this plan, International Paper transferred these acres to Blue Sky Timber Properties, LLC, a subsidiary of Southeast Timber Inc. International Paper did not disclose the estimated retail value of the acres or the specific acreage to be sold per state within the southern region. The lands held by Blue Sky Timber Properties will continue under management by International Paper under the principles of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative[R] program.
