PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 1999--IONA Technologies (NASDAQ:IONA) and Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ:DASTY) today announced the signing of a strategic Original Software Development agreement (OSD) within Dassault Systemes' Development Partnership Program. Under the agreement, IONA's Orbix(r) and OrbixWeb(tm) products will be embedded in Dassault Systemes' product offerings and those of its subsidiaries in CAD/CAM/CAE, Product and Process Development Management and Network Computing markets. In addition, Dassault Systemes plans to embed IONA's Orbix and OrbixWeb technology in the open architecture of its solutions.

IONA's Orbix is the world's leading technology for Making Software Work Together(tm). Orbix is based on the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA(r)) industry standard which defines a means for different software components, systems and applications to work together.
