ION LASER TECHNOLOGY FILES FOR FDA CLEARANCE OF CURING LASER

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Ion Laser Technology (AMEX: ILT.EC) has filed an application with the Food and Drug Administration for clearance to market the company's new Argon Curing Laser, the ACL-5500. The ACL-5500 will be used in composite dentistry for the curing of dental composite materials. Composite materials are used for cavity fillings, cosmetic dentistry and other reconstructive applications. Clinical studies have shown the argon laser to be a superior curing device compared to the standard curing lights in current use.
The new laser will be a complimentary product to the ILT D-1000 CO2 Laser System, which is used for oral soft tissue management. As with the D-1000, the ACL-5500 will be marketed under ILT's medical brand name: ILT Systems. The company will file for patent protection on the ACL-5500 proprietary delivery system, as well as an endodontic procedure.
