INTRASPECT SOFTWARE INTROS REVOLUTIONARY C-MAIL CAPABILITIES WITH NEW 5.5 RELEASE.

Intraspect Software, Inc., a provider of inter-enterprise solutions for collaborative business processes, has announced Intraspect C-mail Services (C-mail) as part of its latest Intraspect 5.5 product release. With C-mail's patent pending technology, Intraspect offers a new level of collaboration, allowing users to interact with Intraspect solutions using the most common communication method in business today, e-mail. C-mail offers unmatched quality and power in leveraging e-mail capabilities, extending Intraspect's best-of-breed collaborative business process capabilities into the hands of e-mail users. Intraspect 5.5 also provides architectural enhancements for large-scale inter-enterprise deployments.

Intraspect C-mail Services builds upon Intraspect's existing strength in making e-mail pervasive throughout the collaboration process. Offered with Intraspect 5.5, C-mail enables powerful anywhere, anytime collaboration, allowing users to truly "live in e-mail" while collaborating in secure, shared workspaces to drive business processes. C-mail features include direct search and retrieval, as well as the ability to access, update, and "check in/out" documents -- all without leaving e-mail. These new features are offered in addition to the e-mail capabilities already built into Intraspect solutions, including the ability to send "tell people" notifications, contribute documents to personal folders, and set up, capture and store discussion threads. Intraspect C-mail Services includes authentication and authorization features that enable secure e-mail transactions and supports all existing e- mail clients without requiring any additional software download.

According to a recent Meta Group report, within five years 5-10% of the workforce will have email enabled wireless devices. Intraspect 5.5 builds upon Intraspect's industry leadership in search and query to provide better knowledge management capabilities for large-scale deployments. The search architecture in 5.5 provides increased capacity for millions of documents, scales for searches under heavy loads, indexes a greater number of document types including Office XP and Star Office, and upcoming support for multi-lingual repositories and documents. Knowledge agents created by end users provide pro-active email notification of new information to wired or wireless devices.

Intraspect 5.5 supports enterprise standard platforms including Windows 2000 and Solaris operating systems and Oracle and SQL Server databases, offering unprecedented scalability and communication-centric collaboration to enterprises of any size. Supporting multiple three-tier platform combinations provides flexible and secure configurations for extranet deployments.

Intraspect 5.5 and Intraspect C-mail Services will be available in June 2002, starting at $650 per seat. A C-mail development environment will be available in Q3 and packaged C-mail modules in conjunction with partners will be rolled out in Q4.
