INTRADO/FUJITSU STREAMLINE CARRIER INTEGRATION WITH BILLING DB.
The alliance will integrate the IntelliBase(SM) National Repository Line Level Database (NRLLDB) with more carriers, quickly and easily, via Fujitsu Consulting, a tier-one provider of management and technology consulting.
Complications in data management of telephone billing records result in tremendous revenue losses and operating costs for carriers every year. Determining which company owns the billing relationship for a specific telephone number is complex and time consuming. In response to this challenge, Intrado developed IntelliBase NRLLDB to provide one consolidated repository of line-, switch-, and company-level information for every working telephone number in the North America Dialing Plan.
"IntelliBase NRLLDB could become a real asset to the beleaguered telecommunications industry," said Frost & Sullivan analyst Daniel Longfield. "The database has the potential to lower carrier expenditures on billing along with increasing carrier revenue, a veritable win-win situation for service providers."
To ensure that current and future releases of this product are universally compatible, facilitate data feeds and streamline distribution channels, Intrado formed an IntelliBase NRLLDB alliance program for data and OSS providers, value-added resellers and integration vendors. As a member of this alliance program, Fujitsu Consulting will integrate the database into its established telecom infrastructure offering for incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs), competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and inter-exchange carriers (IXCs). "Fujitsu Consulting's telecom solutions approach for customers leverages our global telecom experience with best-of-breed software from innovative companies such as Intrado," said Don Dressler, director of Revenue Management Practice for Fujitsu Consulting. "We decided to join Intrado as a telecom OSS integrator to help bring the IntelliBase NRLLDB service to the industry, and from a ground-level perspective, to resolve pervasive customer care and billing problems. With IntelliBase NRLLDB we can now provide a broader functional solution to our clients, and will have a greater opportunity to collaborate with telecommunications market leaders who bear these challenges."
"Fujitsu Consulting's comprehensive system integration services add additional value for IntelliBase NRLLDB customers," said Ray Paddock, vice president and general manager of Intrado's Commercial Database Group. "The alliance is designed to provide our customers with choices. Fujitsu Consulting offers a fast, easy and comprehensive resource that customers can use to input and extract data from IntelliBase NRLLDB."
IntelliBase NRLLDB is being built in response to the industry's demand to improve back-office billing and record maintenance efforts -- and will become commercially available in the fall of 2002.
