INTERVOICE RECEIVES MAJOR ORDER FROM JCPENNEY

DALLAS, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- InterVoice(R)(NASDAQ: INTV) announced today it has received a major order from the JCPenney Financial Services Division for the RobotOperator(R) interactive voice response system. The order will enable JCPenney to upgrade its present DOS-based RobotOperator System to InterVoice's OS/2 system.
According to InterVoice, multiple systems will be installed at sites around the country, totaling several hundred ports. The OS/2 platform provides greater capacity to process the increased number of calls from JCPenney's credit card holders. Callers without touchtone telephones will be able to access the system through a speech recognition feature. Callers can obtain information such as credit limits, credit card balances and date of next payment.
"We have been an InterVoice customer for six years," said Mike Solis, JCPenney project manager. "When it came time to upgrade our system, we selected the company again because of superior system performance, the many features available and the quality support we receive."
"InterVoice is pleased to continue its relationship with JCPenney," said Gary Strzinek, vice president of sales for InterVoice. "By electing to upgrade its present RobotOperator Systems with our newer, more technologically advanced systems, JCPenney has helped validate our company's standing as the leading vendor of voice automation solutions."
InterVoice is a full service voice automation company with more than 3,000 systems installed in almost 40 countries for voice response, audiotex, fax, outbound dialing and messaging capabilities. The systems range in size from six ports to thousands of ports. InterVoice's platform, based on industry standard hardware and software, integrates with virtually any telephone and MIS environment. Customers realize enhanced service, increased employee productivity and lower operating costs.
