Now Valencia-based Princess Cruises Princess Cruises is an American cruise line, based out of Santa Clarita, California, that operates cruise ships also shares the same building with Cunard Line headquarters. It is one of the many cruise lines operated by the Carnival Corporation.  is preparing to pick the winner of a contest with a prize of playing cruise director for a day aboard the company's largest ship, the company's largest ship, the Grand Princess.

Entries closed Thursday for AOL (A division of Time Warner, Inc., New York, NY, www.aol.com) The world's largest online information service with access to the Internet, e-mail, chat rooms and a variety of databases and services.  and Monster.com's Dream Job for a Day Sweepstakes sweepstakes, contest or race, usually a horse race, on which a lottery is run. Prizes are awarded to the holders of winning tickets. In the case of a horse race, the draw is made from the names of all the horses entered in the race and vast numbers of blanks.  for the chance to fill the shoes of a cruise director.

Princess officials weren't sure how many entries they had, but expect to announce a winner next week.

The sweepstakes was part of an ongoing contest sponsored by AOL and Monster.com, where each week users of America Online See AOL.  brands such as AOL, enter to win a day working at their dream job in the fields of entertainment, sports, business and travel.

As cruise director, the winner of the Princess Cruises contest will introduce the ship's evening production show, act as emcee for games and take passengers on tours of the bridge, among other duties, Seomin said.

``Cruise director is one of the most visible positions on a cruise ship - they are actually responsible for making sure the passengers have a good time,'' she said.

The winner and a guest will spend seven days aboard Grand Princess sailing the Caribbean round-trip from Ft. Lauderdale, and will enjoy a customized cruise vacation with Princess' Personal Choice Cruising, which offers passengers a wide variety of options and flexibility in dining, entertainment and amenities.
