INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORP. AWARDED NEESA PAINTS & SOLVENTS CONTRACT
TORRANCE, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- International Technology Corp. (IT) (NYSE: ITX) announced today the award of a Naval Environmental and Energy Support Activity (NEESA) Paints and Solvents Contract. This indefinite delivery order contract requires the removal and/or remedial actions for cleanup of past Navy and Marine Corps hazardous waste sites nationwide whose primary contaminant is paints and solvents which have been deposited on or under the land surface or water bodies. The award has a value of $10 million and will be executed over a five-year duration. Additional future funding may be available.
The scope of remedial work will be varied depending upon the types and level of contaminants formed at the individual sites. The anticipated remedial actions may include treatment of soil, water and air and provide for a broad range of comprehensive technologies.
"This is the second remedial action contract awarded to IT by NEESA. The first award was a five-year $15 million contract for PCB remedial action. We are pleased to be an integral part of the Navy's comprehensive cleanup efforts," said Murray H. Hutchison, chairman and chief executive officer.
International Technology Corp., based in Torrance, is a leading environmental management company providing services to government and industry.
