INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORP. AWARDED MATHER AFB CONTRACT

 TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- International Technology Corp. (NYSE: ITX) (IT) announced today that it has been selected to perform work under a delivery order contract by the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE) at Mather AFB, Calif. The value of the work is approximately $18 million over a 33-month period. A notice to proceed was issued Dec. 18, 1992.
 The scope of work includes remedial design and additional field data collection, routine sample monitoring and other activities incidental to design for the Groundwater Operable Unit (GWOU) and the Soils Operable Unit (SOU) associated with Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) activities.

"IT's comprehensive engineering, design, analytical and remediation capabilities and technology will play an important role to address the diverse and complex level of this work. This work closely complements IT's facility upgrades and closure programs at DOD and DOE sites."
