INTERNATIONAL SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES RESULTS
OLDSMAR, Fla., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- James R. Schalow, chairman

and chief executive officer of International Systems and Technology, Inc. (INSAT) (NASDAQ: INWN) today reported that the company revenues for the first fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31, 1991, were $291,165 compared to $271,762 for the same period in the prior fiscal year. Net income for the first quarter was a negative $9,825 compared to a loss of $34,863 for the same period last year.
The newly organized Thermal Transfer Technology (T3) operation began to contribute to the company's earnings in December after a year of research, development and marketing and moved the company into the black for the month. The backlog for T3 is increasing monthly and prospects for its High Watts Density Heating services are encouraging. A number of Fortune 100 companies are currently contracting for these specialized services which have minimal competition in many industries throughout the world.
The utility operation which rebuilds electrical contacts for the utility industry increased its sales by 14 percent over the same period last year and continued to be the most profitable operation in the company. The utility group also began shipping its newly developed ground stud this year which is expanding the market for its products and services.
The company's backlog of unshipped orders is 50 percent higher than the same period last year because of increased order receipts from T3 and utility products. This is expected to contribute to a turn around year according to Schalow.
INSAT, a Florida based corporation, is engaged in rebuilding and manufacture of products for the utility industry, specialized heat treating applications for industry and electric power plants worldwide, the manufacture and sale of welding torches and precision machining of products for aerospace and defense industries.
