        INTERFACE AND INTERNATIONAL SERVICE SYSTEM JOIN TO FORM
                   INTERFACE SERVICE MANAGEMENT, INC.
    LAGRANGE, Ga., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Interface, Inc. (NASDAQ: IFSIA) today announced the formation of a new joint venture in cooperation with International Service System, Inc. (ISS).  The new company, Interface Service Management, Inc. (ISM), has been formed to provide after-sale maintenance services to Interface's carpet customers. ISS is the American subsidiary of International Service System A/S of Denmark, the world's largest building services contractor.
    Commenting on the new venture, C. Edward Terry, president of Interface Flooring Systems, Inc., Interface's North American carpet subsidiary, said, "This is a landmark move in our industry.  Interface and ISS have joined to make available to Interface's customers the proven methods, equipment and environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals that, together with Interface's engineered carpet products, make possible appearance retention guarantees that are meaningful and, therefore, unprecedented.  We are very pleased that this alliance enables us to deliver one more vitally important aspect of the superior value we have promised our customers."  ISM, Inc. is under the direction of its president, Thomas Lawless, who reports to a board of directors comprised of Interface and ISS officials.
    Interface, Inc. is the world's largest manufacturer of carpet tiles under the Interface and Heuga brands, and interior fabrics under the Guilford of Maine brand, for use in offices, health care facilities, airports, educational and other institutions, and retail facilities. The company also manufactures carpet tiles for residential use.  In addition, the company engages in the manufacture and sale of chemicals used in various rubber and plastic products, and offers Intersept(R), the company's proprietary antimicrobial chemical, under a licensing program to manufacturers of other products.
