INTEL SETS DEAL TO PURCHASE ZIATECH FOR ABOUT $240 MILLION.


Intel Corp. has agreed to acquire Ziatech Corp. for about $240 million. Intel said the acquisition boosts its offerings in the communications-infrastructure products market by bolstering its ability to provide hardware and software for telecommunications Communicating information, including data, text, pictures, voice and video over long distance. See communications.  and networking. Ziatech designs and markets Intel architecture-based circuit boards, hardware platforms Each hardware platform, or CPU family, has a unique machine language. All software presented to the computer for execution must be in the binary coded machine language of that CPU. Following is a list of the major hardware platforms in existence today.
