INTEGRA BANK PRESIDENT LEONARD M. CARROLL NAMED A DIRECTOR OF QUAKER STATE CORPORATION

OIL CITY, Pa., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Leonard M. Carroll, president and chief operating officer of Integra Financial Corporation (NYSE: ITG), Pittsburgh, has been named a director of Quaker State Corporation (NYSE: KSF), effective immediately.
He replaces Lee R. Forker, 86, a former chairman and CEO of Quaker State, who resigned after having served on the Quaker State Board since 1953.
Carroll, 50, is a native of Emlenton, Pa., and a 1966 graduate of Gannon University, Erie, Pa. He helped finance his accounting degree by working summers in the former Quaker State refinery at Emlenton. Following graduation, Carroll spent five years in Cleveland with Price Waterhouse public accountants.
Carroll began his banking career in 1971 at Franklin, Pa., as controller of United Data Services, Inc., a data processing subsidiary of Pennbanc and Seneca Bank. In 1973, he was named controller of First Seneca Bank, headquartered in Oil City; became senior vice president of corporate services in 1979; and was named president in 1984 and chief executive officer in 1985.
That same year, First Seneca became associated with Pennbancorp, and Carroll was named executive vice president of that organization. In 1987, he was appointed vice chairman. In 1989, Pennbancorp merged with Union National Corporation to form Integra Financial Corporation, and Carroll became executive vice president. In 1991, he was named to his present position, president and chief operating officer.
Carroll is active in community and cultural organizations. In northwest Pennsylvania, he has served on the Franklin City Council, the executive board of the French Creek Council Boy Scouts of America, and the board of directors of the Slippery Rock Foundation. He is a trustee of Westminster College and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
Jack W. Corn, chairman and chief executive officer, says, "We are pleased to have one of our former summer employees, now a very successful business executive with local ties, return to Oil City and Quaker State as a member of our board of directors. Len Carroll has a lifelong knowledge and understanding of this company and our business environment, and he will be a valuable contributor to our board."
