 INSTINET CORPORATION ACQUIRES BOMAR SECURITIES
 NEW YORK, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Instinet Corporation, a subsidiary


of Reuters Holdings PLC (NASDAQ: RTRSY), announced today that it had acquired Bomar Securities, L.P. of New York for $8 million, paid in cash.
 Instinet will market Bomar's products as Instinet Analytics, a new service that complements the Instinet real-time trading and off-hours crossing networks.
 Instinet Chief Executive Michael Sanderson said: "Instinet Analytics will support users' decision-making and encourage trading on these networks."
 Marc Chaikin, former partner at Bomar Securities, L.P., has been appointed senior vice-president, Instinet, responsible for the analytics product. Robert Brogan, also a former partner at Bomar, has been retained as a consultant to Instinet.
 Bomar, established in 1989, markets an analytics workstation. It provides investment professionals with the ability to monitor and analyze historical and real-time stock price data via traditional, proprietary or customized technical indicators.
 Users can access and chart a database of over 3,000 U.S. stocks, with an eight-year price history. Charts are updated continuously.
 The database covers nine major market sectors, 85 industry groups, major market indices, 18 futures contracts, and user-defined baskets of stocks.
 In addition, real-time quotes on 160,000 global equities, options and derivatives are available.
 Instinet Corporation's INSTINET Real-Time Trading Network is used by institutional money managers, brokers and market makers. These investment professionals also use Instinet Corporation's other matching products: The Crossing Network for trading U.S. listed and OTC stocks after-hours, MarketMatch for pre-opening matched trading, and Y.E.N. for crossing Japanese ordinary stocks. Currently, orders for over 100 million shares are entered daily through Instinet Corporation products, generating transaction volume averaging more than 13 million shares per day.
