INSIGNIA PROPERTIES UNAFFECTED BY LOS ANGELES EARTHQUAKE

 GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Insignia Financial Group, Inc.'s (NASDAQ: IFGI) commercial and residential properties under management in the Los Angeles area sustained no significant damage in yesterday's earthquake, according to Andrew Farkas, Chairman and CEO of the investment banking and real estate firm.
 "This is a great tragedy and our prayers are with the victims of this disaster," Farkas said. "We have requested our staff in the area to be available to help with temporary housing and provide any assistance feasible."
 Insignia manages approximately 40 multi-housing communities and four commercial properties within 50 miles of the earthquake's epicenter.
 Insignia is the largest manager of multi-family residential properties in the United States and a significant manager of commercial property. Insignia commenced operations in December 1990 and since then has grown to provide property and/or asset management services for more than 1,000 properties, which include approximately 148,000 residential units and in excess of 26 million square feet of commercial space, located in more than 425 cities in 44 states.
