INNOVIVE Pharmaceuticals Announces Data from Oncology Drug Programs to be Presented at American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting.Interim Data from a Phase I Study of INNO-406 for Gleevec-Resistant or Treatment-Intolerant Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) Also called chronic myelocytic leukemia, malignant disorder that involves abnormal accumulation of white cells in the marrow and bloodstream. Mentioned in: Bone Marrow Transplantation to Be Presented NEW YORK -- INNOVIVE Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB). :IVPH) today announced that interim data from a Phase I trial of INNO-406, an orally bioavailable dual Bcr-Abl and Lyn-kinase inhibitor for Gleevec-resistant or treatment-intolerant chronic myelogenous leukemia, will be presented at the American Association for Cancer Research Wikipedia is not the place for advertisement or self-advertising. The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is an organization based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that focuses on all aspects of cancer research including basic, clinical and translational Annual Meeting. Additionally, preclinical data on INNO-206, a doxorubicin prodrug for the treatment of various cancers, will be presented. The meeting takes place April 14-18, 2007 at the Los Angeles Convention Center The Los Angeles Convention Center (abbreviated LACC) is a convention center in downtown Los Angeles. The LACC hosts annual events such as the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, and was best known to video games fans as host to E3 until its cessation in 2006. in Los Angeles, California. Information related to these presentations is as follows: [TABLE OMITTED] About INNO-406 INNO-406 (formerly known as NS-187) is an orally bioavailable, rationally designed, dual Bcr-Abl and Lyn-kinase inhibitor currently in Phase I clinical studies. According to a study published in the journal Blood (Dec. 1, 2005), INNO-406 is 25 to 55 times more potent than imatinib in vitro, and at least 10 times as effective as imatinib mesylate in suppressing the growth of Bcr-Abl bearing tumors. INNO-406 has demonstrated activity in 12 of 13 imatinib-resistant cell lines. In addition to its Bcr-Abl inhibitory properties, INNO-406 inhibits Lyn kinase. Upregulation of Lyn kinase activity is a well recognized cause of imatinib resistance. Lyn kinase activation has also been documented in a variety of solid tumors, including prostate cancer. About INNO-206 INNO-206 (formerly DOXO-EMCH) is a doxorubicin prodrug designed to preferentially reach the tumor and reduce adverse events compared to native doxorubicin. A Phase I study of INNO-206 that demonstrated safety and objective clinical responses in a variety of tumor types was completed in 2005 and presented at the March 2006 Krebskongress meeting in Berlin. In this study, doses were administered at up to six times the standard dosing of doxorubicin without an increase in observed side effects over historically seen levels with doxorubicin. Objective clinical responses were seen in patients with sarcoma sarcoma (särkō`mə), highly malignant tumor arising in connective- and muscle-cell tissue. It is the result of oncogenes (the cancer causing genes of some viruses) and proto-oncogenes (cancer causing genes in human cells). , breast, and lung cancers.
