INFRASONICS ANNOUNCES FDA APPROVAL TO BEGIN MANUFACTURING AT NEW FACILITY

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Infrasonics (NASDAQ: IFRA) announced today that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permission to begin manufacturing and selling its High Frequency Infant Star ventilator at its Sorrento Valley facilities.
Jim Hitchin, Infrasonics' president, said, "This event has considerable impact on Infrasonics for two reasons. First, we are now able to manufacture and ship a backlog of orders for this important product that is now in excess of $800,000. Second, this indicates that the company is in compliance with FDA's regulations, in large part as a result of considerable expenditures made by the company in the last quarter. Having worked cooperatively with the FDA to resolve its concerns and put the matter behind us, we can see our new manufacturing policies and procedures as an important strength in providing high- quality products for our customers."
Infrasonics is a public company with its common shares traded over the counter under the NASDAQ symbol IFRA. The company manufactures infant incubators, ventilators (respirators) for infants, children, and adults, as well as other respiratory care products for use in hospitals and the home.
