INFINITI SETS ALL-TIME SALES RECORD IN MARCH; G20 HAS BEST-EVER MONTH

    CARSON, Calif., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- In March, Infiniti recorded its best sales month in the history of the franchise, with sales of 5,963 units, up 31.3 percent versus the same period last year and 51.8 percent versus the previous month.  Sales were led by the G20 luxury sports sedan, establishing an all-time record for the vehicle, according to figures released by the luxury car division of Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A.
    The G20 luxury sports sedan turned in a record 2,389 units, up 20.5 percent versus last year.  The J30 personal luxury sedan posted a large increase in March, selling 2,191 units, up 65.1 percent versus last year and 50.0 percent versus last month.  And the new Q luxury performance sedan, introduced in mid-April of '93, reached an 18-month high with 1,380 units, up 47.8 percent versus last month.
    "We're thrilled about Infiniti's record-setting performance in March," said William R. Bruce, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division.  "Infiniti has had a tremendous year to date in '94, with three consecutive month-to-month increases and strong sales across the entire model line-up.  We're especially pleased with the performance of the new G20, after its first full-month in dealer showrooms."
    Introduced nationwide in mid-February, the new G20 features enhanced luxury appointments and a G20t Touring Package Option, which adds an extra measure of sportiness to the entry-level luxury sedan.
    Total Nissan Motor Corporation U.S.A. sales, including Nissan and Infiniti Divisions, totaled 75,588, up 40.0 percent versus prior year sales of 54,028 units.
