Mitchell Inc. offers over 30 years of experience manufacturing specialty machines designed to cut or trim round or cylindrical parts from rubber, some plastic and composites. Mitchell's line of equipment consists of several standard models of two basic types of machines - lathe lathe (lāth), machine tool for holding and turning metal, wood, plastic, or other material against a cutting tool to form a cylindrical product or part. It also drills, bores, polishes, grinds, makes threads, and performs other operations.  cutters and knife trimmers. Mitchell also designs and builds custom machines for a variety of cutting or trimming applications.

Mitchell's machines are based on the principle of high speed rotation and the constant advance of a sharp cutting blade. This makes repeated minimal cuts in the same track and enables them to cut accurately, without distortion by blade pressure. These machines will cut as fast as the material will allow.

These machines are not typically used for rubber bands, hose washers or other low value parts. Mitchell lathe cutters will generally produce up to 240 parts per minute, depending upon size, complexity and the material used.

Mitchell offers six standard knife trimmers, sometimes called deflashers, to trim flash from round or circular molded parts. Parts are precisely positioned on a rotating spindle spindle: see spinning.

, extrusion and blow molding components for the rubber and plastics industries. Included are screws and barrels (single and twin), valves, ball checks and end caps. The engineering department of General Plastex custom designs screws to meet production specifications and the plasticizing requirements of specific resins.

General Plastex can manufacture new screws ranging in size from 14 mm up to 12" in diameter, 40' in length. Materials can be supplied to withstand today's most abrasive or corrosive resins. Screws can be manufactured to customer specifications and resin supplier recommendations, or the engineering department can custom design a screw to meet special needs.

Screw rebuilding is also offered by General Plastex. All screws are rebuilt to meet or exceed OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  specifications. Coal Fillers Inc. is a global supplier of ground coal to the rubber and plastics markets. The company's Austin Black 325 has earned a reputation as a high quality, cost effective pigment and filler.

Austin Black is one of the most cost effective pigment and mineral fillers available. It has a specific gravity specific gravity, ratio of the weight of a given volume of a substance to the weight of an equal volume of some reference substance, or, equivalently, the ratio of the masses of equal volumes of the two substances.  of 1.3. When compared to carbon blacks with a 1.8 specific gravity, and other mineral fillers at 2.6 to 2.9 specific gravity, Austin Black can significantly reduce compound costs.

Austin Black readily disperses in natural rubber, synthetic rubbers and plastics, which reduces mixing time without causing agglomeration ag·glom·er·a·tion

With regard to its physical and chemical properties, Austin Black has a platy structure, and a pH value of 7.0. Its chemical and ultraviolet resistance should enhance the properties of most rubber and plastic compounds. It will not absorb moisture and can improve air retention and moisture permeation per·me·a·tion
