Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Indigo and Convedia are working closely to ensure seamless support of Convedia's CMS-1000 and CMS-6000 Media Servers by the Indigo Presence Server SDK. Indigo's Java presence software toolkits and Convedia's SIP enabled media servers will be combined in order to support presence-based conferencing applications never before possible. One key feature of the united offerings will be automatic conference set-up as soon as all desired participants are available, as denoted by their "presence status." This is facilitated by a unique management of users' context information -- online status, availability to communicate, media capabilities, etc. -- achieved by the Indigo presence server along with the Indigo SIP proxy (Session Initiation Protocol proxy) A server in a SIP-based IP telephony environment. It is required in large companies with numerous telephone numbers or when the Internet is the long distance transport. The SIP proxy takes over call control from the terminals and serves as a central repository for address translation (name to IP address). The SIP proxy server provides similar functionality to a gatekeeper in an H. server.
