INDIANS FAST PROVING THEY CAN CONTEND.

Byline: Brian Dalziel Daily News Staff Writer

Why is Hart High's first-year girls' volleyball coach Tiffany Coe a bit giddy these days?

Well, have you seen how well the Indians have been playing?

The senior-oriented squad has won three straight, including a recent come-from-behind nonleague victory over Highland, 10-15, 8-15, 15-13, 16-14, 15-8, that pushed the Indians' record to 4-1.

``They have everything it takes to win,'' said Coe, who graduated from Hart in 1995 and played volleyball there for four years.

``The Highland coach during the fourth game said to me during a timeout In communications, the intentional ending of an incomplete task. If an acknowledgment, carrier, logon, etc., has not occurred in a specified amount of time, the timeout ends the waiting loop so that the request can be retransmitted or the process terminated. Timeouts are common in communications applications in order to free up a line or port that is tied up with a request that has not been answered in a reasonable amount of time., `Your team is so awesome,' '' she said. ``I told the girls that on our next timeout and I said he's right.''

After competing in the Royal tournament this past weekend, the Indians return to nonleague play this week. Coe's squad plays at Village Christian today at 5:30 p.m., then will be tested Thursday when it travels to Louisville at 6 p.m.

``All the players, when they step out on the court, they give so much,'' Coe said. ``When they are focused and mentally smart, they are an unbeatable team.

``The key is they don't give up. They persevere and fight back.''
