INDEPENDENCE BLUE CROSS AND PENNSYLVANIA BLUE SHIELD
 DEBUT CABLE HEALTH TALK SHOW
PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Independence Blue Cross and Pennsylvania Blue Shield have inaugurated a talk format-oriented cable program called "Health & You."
The program seen monthly on all Philadelphia cable systems and major cable systems in the suburbs, is designed to inform and educate the viewers on topical health care issues.
"We are hoping to reach our subscribers with the latest information on health care trends, and better inform the Delaware Valley of the important issues facing all consumers," said G. Fred DiBona Jr., president and chief executive officer of Independence Blue Cross.
The program, shown on Tuesday evenings at 6:30, is hosted by Dr. Marty Weisberg, a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Weisberg has extensive communications experience in television and radio, and is a respected expert in the region's medical community.
Topics to be discussed during the program in the upcoming months include heart disease, children's health issues, injuries in the home, holiday health issues and other subjects.
The program's round-table format includes experts who explain the medical problems and issues, and often include patients who have had successful outcomes or procedures. Often, experts from local hospitals are utilized to assist in bringing information to the public.
All cable systems in Philadelphia are showing the program, as well as Suburban Cable in Delaware County, Oxford Valley Cable in Bucks County, Adelphia and Comcast in Montgomery County, and Suburban Cable in Chester County.
