INCOGEN Commits to Major Sponsorship of The Advancing Practice, Instruction and Innovation through Informatics Conference -APIII 2004-.


WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- INCOGEN, Inc. announced today a major sponsorship of The Advancing Practice, Instruction and Innovation through Informatics conference (APIII APIII Advancing Pathology Informatics Imaging and the Internet  2004.) The conference, titled Frontiers in Oncology and Pathology Informatics, provides a broad overview of applications of biomedical informatics Biomedical informatics is a term used to describe the broad discipline that encompasses such subdomains as bioinformatics, clinical informatics, public health informatics, etc, and is most commonly used in this way in the USA[1].  in pathology and oncology practice, education and research. It will take place October 6 - 8, 2004 in Pittsburgh, PA. INCOGEN will sponsor the entire Bioinformatics Track throughout the conference as a Gold-level sponsor.

In April, INCOGEN received a two-year, $2 Million award from the National Institutes of Health - National Cancer Institute to continue its research program in cancer diagnostics. The research program involves a close collaboration with scientists from the College of William and Mary Noun 1. William and Mary - joint monarchs of England; William III and Mary II  and clinical researchers from the Eastern Virginia Medical School Coordinates:  Eastern Virginia Medical School, in Norfolk, Virginia is a public medical school. .

The objectives of the Bioinformatics Track are to provide a focused study of advances and challenges in clinical-genomic/proteomic data integration, a pressing area in the bioinformatics of genomic-proteomic profiling.
