INC Research Awarded North Carolina's Job Development Investment Grant for Significant Expansion in Raleigh.

Therapeutically-Focused CRO Plans to Add Approximately 1,100 Jobs and Invest Over $19 Million Over Four Years

RALEIGH, N.C. -- INC Research, a therapeutically-focused contract research organization (CRO) with a trusted process for delivering reliable results, announced that it was unanimously awarded North Carolina's Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) to continue its expansion in North Carolina. The company plans to add 1,093 jobs and make capital investments of $19.2 million during the next four years.

JDIG, which is a discretionary incentive that will provide annual grants for up to 12 years, will enable INC Research to develop new jobs including a mix of management, clinical research, data and information technology, and administrative support.

Under the terms of the grant program, INC Research must meet annual performance targets to receive annual payments. If it meets all the terms in the agreement, INC Research could receive as much as $14.845 million in maximum benefits.

The grant comes after several 2007 milestones in the company's history. INC Research formed a joint venture to run full service, Phase I-IV clinical trials in India. The strategic acquisition of Advanced Biologics allowed the company to strengthen its Infectious Disease practice. In addition, INC Research was named a Business Champion in the Healthcare category based on its extensive training programs, job creation and increased revenue in the North Carolina Research Triangle area.

This INC Research grant is the 66th JDIG award announced since the program began in 2002 and the 11th grant awarded this year.
