Duo, a truck driver, spent his spare time for two years restoring a 19th century horse-drawn carriage that he picked up when its previous owners were moving out of their Acton home.

``I like the old Western-style stuff. It's a part of history that's disappearing. It was a lot of fun putting it together,'' Duo, 40, said.

All black, with metal-rimmed wooden-spoke wheels mounted on leaf springs, the buggy has front and rear seats and a half-top over the rear seat. Its previous owner told Duo that he got it in Lancaster, Pa., in the 1980s.

He spotted the buggy one day while driving through Acton. Its owner was in the process of moving out of his home, and Duo stopped and talked with him.

``He said if you want it, you can have it,'' said Duo.
