City man is jailed for four months after theft

A COVENTRY man has been jailed for four months by city magistrates for offences including theft to the value of pounds 3,415.

Damien Anthony Corbett, aged 20, of Samuel Vale House, St Nicholas Street, Radford, was also charged with theft to the value of pounds 13.32 and breach of a conditional discharge.

Other cases dealt with by Coventry Magistrates Court on 26 November included:

Paul A'Barrow, aged 25, of Garratt Close, Long Lawford, Rugby, driving a vehicle with an incorrect licence, failing to produce a licence, using a vehicle without a test certificate and failing to produce a test certificate, fined pounds 100.

Peter Alfred Bentley, aged 38, of MacMahon Road, Bedworth, using a vehicle without a test certificate and failing to produce a test certificate, fined pounds 30.

Dean Currie, aged 25, of Kitchener Road, Foleshill, Coventry, using a vehicle without insurance, fined pounds 100.

James Davies, aged 27, of George Elliot Avenue, Bedworth, using a vehicle without insurance, fined pounds 100.

Martin John Lavan, aged 51, of Park Road, Cheylesmore, Coventry, plying for hire without a licence, fined pounds 75.

Lee Wayne Morris, aged 18, of Edward Bailey Close, Ernesford Grange, Coventry, driving with excess alcohol, driving with an incorrect licence, using a vehicle without a test certificate and using a vehicle without insurance, community punishment order for 60 hours, banned from driving for one year and a drink drive course was offered and accepted.

Joanne Couley, aged 23, of Freehold Street, Hillfields, Coventry, using threatening abusive or insulting words or behaviour and assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty, fined pounds 25 and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 50.

Shane William Francis Faulkner, aged 25, of Hillside, Stoke Heath, Coventry, failing to surrender to custody and assault by beating, conditional discharge for one year.

Noel Keegan, aged 59, of Waterside, Bedworth, driving with an incorrect licence and failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath, fined pounds 200, banned from driving for three years and a drink drive course was offered and accepted.

Andrew Richard Morris, aged 33, of Moreton Close, Keresley, Coventry, assisting in the disposal of stolen goods to the value of pounds 15,000, fined pounds 500.

Jonathan Desmond Murphy, aged 20, of Craners Road, Hillfields, Coventry, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, bound over for six months.

David Templeton, aged 52, of Laneside, Willenhall, Coventry, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, bound over for six months.

Poothathamby Amirthavale, aged 30, of Colchester Street, Hillfields, Coventry, two charges of theft to the total value of pounds 446.59, community punishment order for 100 hours, community rehabilitation order for one year and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 446.59.

Darren Paul French, aged 23, of Redcap Croft, Holbrooks, Coventry, one charge of attempting to obtain property by deception to the value of pounds 104.99, one charge of receiving stolen goods and two charges of obtaining property by deception to the value of pounds 784, 16 offences taken into consideration, community punishment order for 240 hours and ordered to pay compensation to the total value of pounds 784.

Robert Vance Reardon, aged 25, of Alexander Terrace, Lythalls Lane, Foleshill, Coventry, driving while disqualified, driving with excess alcohol, using a vehicle without insurance and using a vehicle without a test certificate, 56 days imprisonment and banned from driving for three years.

Susan Pike, aged 38, of Barkers Butts Lane, Coundon, Coventry, failing to produce a licence, failing to produce a certificate of insurance, using a vehicle without a test certificate, failing to produce a test certificate and failing to surrender to custody, fined pounds 130.

Roger William Regan, aged 44, of The Moorfield, Stoke Aldermoor, Coventry, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, bound over for six months.

Stephen Arthur Taylor, aged 47, of Queensland Avenue, Chapelfields, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence and failing to produce a licence, fined pounds 40.

Royston Neil Williams, aged 32, of Jade Close, Coventry, using a vehicle without insurance and using a vehicle without a test certificate, fined pounds 200.

Craig Clelland, aged 32, of Walsall Street, Canley, Coventry, using threatening abusive or insulting words or behaviour, fined pounds 50.

Martin Phillip Duffy, aged 35, of Three Spires Avenue, Coundon, Coventry, driving with excess alcohol, using a vehicle without insurance and using a vehicle without a test certificate, fined pounds 350 and banned from driving for two years.

Gary Edward McCarthy, aged 34, of Hornsey Close, Henley Green, Coventry, possession of a wrap of cannabis a controlled class B drug, fined pounds 25.

Christine McCormack, aged 30, of Valley Road, Stoke Heath, Coventry, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, bound over for six months.

Katie Jane O'Brien, aged 18, of Belgrave Road, Wyken, Coventry, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, fined pounds 100 and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 62.50.

Courtenay Michelle McLellan, aged 19, of Wyver Crescent, Stoke, Coventry, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, fined pounds 100 and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 62.50.

Joga Singh Rai, aged 33, of Selworthy Road, Holbrooks, Coventry, failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath, fined pounds 250 and banned from driving for 18 months.

William Scott Staples, aged 20, of Parkfield Road, Keresley, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 124.94, fined pounds 25.

Elizabeth Ann Banks, aged 56, of John Rous Avenue, Canley, Coventry, driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop after an accident and failing to surrender to custody, fined pounds 220, banned from driving for three years and drink drive course was offered and accepted.

Kelvin Martin McLeod, aged 18, of Vine Street, Hillfields, Coventry, without lawful authority had in a public place an offensive weapon namely an expandable cosh, fined pounds 60 and ordered to forfeit the weapon for destruction.

Christopher Mathew McFadden, aged 24, of Mercia House, Lower Precinct, City Centre, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 22.99 and breach of a conditional discharge, fined pounds 55.

Mark Paul Nilsson, aged 30, of Hypericum Gardens, Wyken, Coventry, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, bound over for one year.

Wayne Roland Thompson, aged 31, of Tynemouth Close, Aldermans Green, Coventry, using a vehicle without a test certificate and fraudulent use of a vehicle excise licence, fined pounds 95.
