IN THE COURTS; Violence charge man jailed.
Andrew John Taylor, aged 33, of Fawley Close, Willenhall, was also convicted on two counts of failing to surrender to custody, one of driving with an incorrect licence, one of using a vehicle without insurance, one of driving a vehicle knowing it was taken without the owner's consent and two of failing to comply with a community service order.
He was made subject of a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting his victim until September 2001.
Other cases dealt with by Coventry magistrates on September 16 included:
William Stephen Rigney, aged 19, of Wordsworth Road, Stoke, Coventry, driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after an accident, fined pounds 250.
Daniel Karl Stewart, aged 29, of Jardine Crescent, Tile Hill North, Coventry, failing to surrender to custody, fined pounds 25.
Ian Christopher Barrow-man, aged 21, of Wappenbury Road, Wood End, Coventry, one charge of theft to the value of pounds 150, one of assisting in the disposal of stolen goods to the value of pounds 130, one of destroying or damaging property to the value of pounds 250, three of theft to the total value of pounds 103.63, one of receiving stolen goods to the value of pounds 100 and one of failing to surrender to custody, probation order for one year and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 250.
Stephen Collier, aged 21, of Maycock Road, Foleshill, Coventry, possession of heroin and failing to surrender to custody, conditional discharge for one year and fined pounds 50.
Darren Keith James Hoyle, aged 18, of Yew Close, Stoke Aldermoor, Coventry, two charges of using a vehicle without insurance and two charges of driving while disqualified, probation order for 18 months and banned from driving for one year under the totting up provisions.
Susan Robertson, aged 42, of The Lindfield, Stoke Aldermoor, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 6.39, conditional discharge for one year.
Trevor Paul Gannon, aged 20, of Foxford Crescent, Aldermans Green, Coventry, driving with excess alcohol, fined pounds 125 and banned from driving for one year.
David Christopher Hughes, aged 27, of Bransdale Avenue, Holbrooks, Coventry, destroying property to the value of pounds 5,000, conditional discharge for one year and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 50.
David Robert Hammond, aged 48, of Ansty Road, Wyken, Coventry, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, bound over for one year.
James Michael Kavanagh, aged 22, of Dunhill Avenue, Tile Hill North, Coventry, two charges of theft to the total value of pounds 197.23, conditional discharge for one year.
Dan Matthews, aged 19, of Mason Avenue, Leamington, driving with an incorrect licence, using a vehicle without insurance, using a vehicle in a dangerous condition and using a vehicle with a faulty brake light, fined pounds 200.
Scott Bernard McInally, aged 31, of Beake Avenue, Whitmore Park, Coventry, damaging property, fined pounds 100.
Mohammed Obaid Tahir, aged 22, of Keppel Street, Hillfields, Coventry, driving without due care and attention, fined pounds 75.
