Lancaster's Aerospace Walk of Honor aviation fair Saturday will include the Reflection Pavilion, with a backdrop of the Freedom Tower, which is being built on the site of the World Trade Center, and a book visitors can sign. The pavilion will be staffed by firefighters, police officers and armed forces veterans in dress uniforms. The Aerospace Walk of Honor monument's unveiling ceremony will feature a moment of silence in honor of the 9-11 victims. The aviation fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Boeing Plaza, on the corner of Lancaster Boulevard and Sierra Highway. The monuments will be unveiled at 11:30 a.m. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Honorees will be test pilots Thomas Morganfeld, Joseph Rogers, Roger Smith, Joseph Tymczyszyn and Richard Truly. Tymczyszyn died in 1999 at age 81. The Antelope Valley Interfaith Council will host a memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Antelope Valley Center of Light, 1030 W. Ave. L-8, Lancaster. It will feature prayers or readings in the Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Native American, New Thought and Wicca faith traditions. After the presentations, a potluck meal will be hosted at 6:30 p.m. Participants were asked not to bring foods containing pork or pork products.
