American International Group, Inc. (AIG) (NYSE: AIG; TYO: 8685 ) is a major American insurance corporation based in New York City. bought 667,153 shares of 20th Century Industries stock at $28.13 to $28.88 a share between June 16 and 25, raising its ownership in the Woodland Hills-based insurer to 44.61 percent from 43.84 percent. AIG, an insurer that rescued 20th Century from insolvency after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, now holds 39.06 million shares.
