SUIT SETTLED: Hollywood Entertainment Corp., parent company of the Hollywood Video rental chain, agreed to pay Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment an undisclosed amount to settle a lawsuit accusing it of under-reporting video sales and rentals. The lawsuit, filed in Santa Monica Superior Court, accused Hollywood of defrauding film studios by under-reporting sales and rentals of videocassettes to avoid paying royalties.

NEW INDEX: Standard & Poor's named Thousand Oaks-based biotechnology giant Amgen Inc. to its elite S&P 100 index Tuesday after the markets closed.
