VALLEY INDEX JUMPS: Shares of most companies in the Daily News Index were higher Wednesday, led by Panavision Inc. of Woodland Hills and Superior Industries International Inc. of Van Nuys. Panavision gained 62.5 cents to $8.625.

Shares of Superior, an automobile wheel maker, soared 6.25 percent to close at $25.50, up $1.50, a day after announcing contracts worth an annual $250 million and plans for a new plant.

 Daily News said executives with Burbank-based Disney, which has not commented on whether it will go ahead on the deal, were in Hong Kong for final negotiations with the Hong Kong government. Negotiations reportedly have been scheduled to end June 30 with the government promising to announce results July 1.
