SWEET DEAL: Sunkist, the Sherman Oaks-based citrus marketing cooperative, will be selling fruit year-round as a result of an alliance with Tuxedo Fruit Co. of Florida. As a nonmember, licensed packer of Sunkist, Tuxedo will be selling Florida grapefruit and tangerines under the Sunkist brand, giving the cooperative grapefruit sales in the East Coast from October to May. Sunkist is owned and operated by more than 6,500 citrus growers in California and Arizona, most of whom are small family farmers.
