GOOD TIMING: The top executives at El Segundo-based Mattel Inc. sold almost 1.5 million shares in February, about a month before shares tumbled with the announcement that first-quarter sales will be less than expected. The announcement came Tuesday. Mattel executives sold 1.46 million shares, more than they sold in a single month the past five years, for $41.50 to $42.16 a share and raised as much as $61.7 million.
