GAUSS SOLD: The assets of Gauss Inc., a Sun Valley-based maker of high-speed tape duplicating equipment, has been acquired by Stockholm, Sweden-based M2 Engineering for an undisclosed cash amount, officials said. Gauss, which was acquired from Minneapolis-based Telex Communications Telex Communications was a Burnsville, Minnesota-based manufacturer of hearing aids and audio equipment. Founded in 1936 as a maker of hearing aids, it merged in 1998 with Electro-Voice, a competitor founded in 1930 which provided John Glenn's microphone during his orbit of earth  Inc., has been renamed Gauss-M2 Corp. and will continue making its tape duplicating systems from Sun Valley. It also will manufacture M2's SQ1, touted as the world's smallest CD/DVD and CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.
