T-BILLS MIXED: Interest rates on short-term Treasury securities were mixed in Monday's auction. The Treasury Department sold $7.29 billion in three-month bills at an average discount rate of 5.14 percent, up from 5.07 percent last week.

HOME SALES STRONG: Home sales and prices continued to trend upward across Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County during January, a real estate information service said on Monday. Sales increased 9.8 percent from year-ago levels, and the median price of $173,000 was a 6.1 jump, said Acxiom/DataQuick Information Systems. IWERKS CHIEF: Burbank-based Iwerks Entertainment Iwerks Entertainment was founded in 1985 by Stan Kinsey and Don Iwerks, two former Disney Executives, and became well known through 1996 as a leading developer of special venue and virtual reality theaters throughout the world.  Inc. has named Charles Goldwater, former chief executive of Cinamerica Theaters LP, as chairman and chief executive. Goldwater replaces Roy Wright Gordon "Roy" Wright (born 23 February 1929, died 30 July 2002) was an Australian rules football player with the Richmond Football Club in the VFL during the 1940s and 1950s, and television personality during the 1960s. , who will continue to advise the maker of ride simulators and big-screen theater attractions. Iwerks has been cutting costs amid slowing sales in Asia.

DISNEY SALE: Burbank-based Walt Disney Co. may sell its 19.6 percent holding in Scandinavian Broadcasting System. The entertainment giant said the investment is inconsistent with its primary focus on international broadcasting to develop and manage Disney- and ESPN-branded programming services in major markets.
