T-BILL RATES FALL: Interest rates on short-term Treasury securities fell in Monday's auction. The Treasury Department sold $7.26 billion in three-month bills at an average discount rate of 4.965 percent, down from 5.115 percent last week. An additional $7.25 billion was sold in six-month bills at an average rate of 4.910 percent, down from 5.130 percent.

RITE AID Rite Aid (NYSE: RAD) is a United States retailer and pharmacy chain, operating over 5,000 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia. Rite Aid Corporation is one of the nation's leading drugstore chains.  MAKES IT OFFICIAL: As part of its recent acquisition of the drug store chain, Rite Aid Corp. will rename all 1,007 Thrifty PayLess Thrifty PayLess Holdings, Inc. was a pharmacy holding company that owned the Thrifty Drugs and PayLess Drug Store chains in the western United States.

The combined company was formed when Los Angeles-based TCH Corporation, the parent company of
 stores to Rite Aid, officials said Monday. West Coast Thrifty PayLess Inc. was acquired by Rite Aid in December for $1.4 billion in stock.

MINIMED DEAL CLOSES: Sylmar-based MiniMed Inc. said Monday that it has completed its purchase of Florida-based Home Medical Supply Inc. MiniMed paid $14.2 million in stock for the medical supply and distribution company. MiniMed closed up 18 cents Monday to $33.75.
