TO THE HEARTLAND: Des Moines, Iowa-based AccessAir announced Tuesday a realigning of its flight schedule effective Oct. 31 for travelers who fly from the Midwest to Los Angeles. The airline also announced a 25 percent discount for same-day round-trip flights between LAX and the Midwest cities of Des Moines and Peoria and Moline, Ill. Beginning next month, a same-day round-trip ticket from Des Moines or Moline to Los Angeles will cost $399, while the cost of a flight from Peoria to Los Angeles will drop to $349.

NAVAL CONTRACT: PRC Inc., a subsidiary of Woodland Hills-based Litton Industries, was awarded a contract with the U.S. Navy expected to be worth $78 million over a five-year period. Litton PRC will provide aircrew training system operations and maintenance, administration, logistics and engineering services at several bases in the East Coast.
