 and ship-builder Litton Industries Inc. of Woodland Hills announced Friday the consolidation of two divisions and 135 layoffs at an Oregon facility. The company will create a new organization, called Litton Advanced Systems Division, from the consolidation of the Applied Technology Division of San Jose and the Amecom Division in College Park, Md. The new organization will be headquartered in College Park.

DISNEY DEAL: Burbank-based The Walt Disney Co.has agreed to a four-year pay-television deal with Encore Media Group that covers all releases by its Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, Miramax and Dimension labels during the period between the start of 2003 and the end of 2006. The agreement, believed to be the largest-ever pay-TV pact, can be extended through 2012 and has been estimated to be worth at least $300 million a year.
