VALLEY INDEX FALLS: Shares of most companies in the Daily News Index were lower Thursday, led by On Assignment Inc. of Calabasas and Camarillo's Power-One Inc. On Assignment dropped $2.625 to $26.75. Power-One fell $1.625 to $25.

NEW FOCUS: Chatsworth-based Intellicell Corp. is asking shareholders to approve changing the company's name to Focus Affiliates Inc. The company also said that it will start conducting business as Focus Wireless Communications. A vote on the name change will be held at the company's annual meeting in September. The company's stock will continue to be traded on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol Ticker Symbol

YARC YARC You're Absolutely Right, Commander (military slang)  MERGER: YARC Systems Corp., a Camarillo-based maker of products that allow computer images to be printed onto display signage, is about to become bigger. The board of Buena Park-based Quality Photographic Imaging on Thursday unanimously approved a merger with the Ventura County company. The merger, which had been announced in May, should close within the next few days, according to Quality Photographic, a 17-year-old company whose technology is used to produce color displays.
