TEKELEC CONTRACT: Calabasas-based Tekelec, a switching and control systems supplier, announced Wednesday that it has signed a multimillion-dollar contract with Telfort, the Dutch subsidiary of British Telecom The telephone and communications carrier that provides services in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It used to be a division of the British Post Office, but was privatized in 1984 under Margaret Thatcher's administration.. Under the contract, Tekelec will deliver to Telfort a complete signaling system and will create intelligent network-ready infrastructure. The project also includes management and training from Tekelec's European Support Center.
