The forms of such works are generally developed into a tradition that is either cut off from or tenuously connected to the contemporary cultural mainstream. Market boosts attendance More than 20,000 visitors came to the fifth Santa Fe International Folk Art Market last July, a 20 percent increase over the previous year. Despite some concerns about the economy, artists sales exceeded $2 million. This was 18 percent more than last year and averaged out at $16,300 per booth. Oct. 1 was the deadline for applications for the 2009 market. Regional coordinators will be reviewing the applications before they are turned over to the artist selection committee, which will notify applicants by Dec. 15 about whether they have been accepted for the 2009 market. The ratings are based on authenticity of the folk art, artistic quality and marketability. The committee also considers geographic and media diversity. The Albuquerque campus offers 25 courses on-line and has plans to increase that number in the next two years. CSFA CSFA Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America CSFA Center for the Study of the First Americans (College Station, TX) CSFA California School Finance Authority CSFA California State Floral Association will also offer Saturday intensives: four-hour morning or afternoon classes that allow Santa Fe students to travel to Albuquerque one day a week to complete an eight-week session. Students currently enrolled in evening and weekend graduate level courses will be able to complete their degrees in the next 12-18 months on the Santa Fe campus during nights and weekends.
