IMC Global Lake Forest, Ill., announces that Norman Beug has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the company's IMC Potash business unit in Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan. Beug will succeed Robert Thompson, who is retiring after serving 32 years in the potash industry. Beug began his career with Kalium ka·li·um (k

Chemicals in 1977 as a design engineer. After numerous supervisory and management positions, he was named manager of refinery and shipping for the Belle Plaine solution mine in 1988. He was then promoted to his current position of general manager in April 1997.
