 IMC FERTILIZER GROUP OFFERS $100 MILLION OF SENIOR DEBENTURES
 NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- IMC Fertilizer Group, Inc. (NYSE: IFL) announced today that it is offering $100 million principal amount of 9.45 percent senior debentures due Dec. 15, 2011, as part of a recently filed shelf registration. The debentures were priced at 99.620 percent to yield 9.493 percent or 170 basis points over 30-year Treasury bonds.
 The debentures are being offered through J. P. Morgan Securities Inc.; Goldman, Sachs & Co.; and Salomon Brothers Inc.
 The debentures are rated Baa2 by Moody's and BBB-by Standard & Poor's. The net proceeds of the offering will be used by IMC Fertilizer to retire bank debt.
 IMC Fertilizer, headquartered in Northbrook, is one of the world's leading producers and marketers of phosphate rock, potash and concentrated phosphates, all major crop nutrients. The company also is involved in the production of sulphur, oil and natural gas, and recovery of uranium oxide for upgrading by electric utilities as fuel for nuclear power plants.
