IMAGE ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO PACKAGE OF MGM/UA TITLES FOR LASERDISC

 Boxed Sets And Double Features Are Among
 35 Catalogue Programs To Be Released


CHATSWORTH, Calif., Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Image Entertainment, Inc. (Nasdaq: DISK) the largest laserdisc distributor in the United States, today announced the signing of an exclusive licensing agreement with Warner Home Video that would see the laserdisc release of thirty- five programs from the MGM/UA library. Warner Home Video is the exclusive distributor of MGM/UA Home Video product.

The exclusive licensing agreement will result in many treasured MGM/UA catalog titles coming to laserdisc in remastered and special editions containing extensive ancillary materials. The first two releases under this agreement are THE MGM COMPOSER'S COLLECTION and ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD.

THE MGM COMPOSER'S COLLECTION (ML105155, $124.98) will contain three newly remastered features celebrating the works of Jerome Kern, Sigmund Romberg and the team of Rodgers and Hart. TILL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY, WORDS AND MUSIC and DEEP IN MY HEART represent the three features that will be included in this deluxe box set. Each feature will contain supplemental materials and one, DEEP IN MY HEART, will be presented in true stereo for the first time.

ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD (ML104900, $39.98), starring Paul Douglas and Janet Leigh, is a charming 1951 fantasy about a group of angels who come to Earth to save the season for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The comedy classic features cameo appearances by baseball legends Joe DiMaggio and Ty Cobb. As an added bonus, the disc will also contain the 1951 Tex Avery animated short, BATTY BASEBALL.

Other titles and programs slated for release include THE GARBO SILENTS, ZABRISKIE POINT, THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY, NEVER ON SUNDAY, THE WILD CHILD, SEPARATE TABLES, MGM HORROR CLASSICS and THE LON CHANEY COLLECTION.
