Liu, will be honored by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund Founded in 1974, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) is a national organization that protects and promotes the civil rights of Asian Americans. By combining litigation, advocacy, education, and organizing, AALDEF works with Asian American communities across the  (AALDEF) at its annual Lunar New Year Lunar New Year may refer to the beginning of the year in several calendars.  tonight. Liu will receive the AALDEF's Justice in Action award in recognition of his contributions to promoting social justice and diversity and for outstanding personal and professional achievements as one of the most influential Asian American lawyers in the United States.

The Justice in Action award is the AALDEF's highest recognition. Since 1974, AALDEF has honored exceptional individuals who have paved the way for racial justice and equality. Liu has been pivotal in advancing these ideals as an active member of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association and IKON's Diversity Council, which he helped form in 1999 to build and promote diversity within the company. Consisting of employees from across IKON, the Council sponsors several key corporate initiatives, including a supplier diversity program, recruitment and training programs, and employee mentoring and diversity training courses.

Liu has previously been recognized for his efforts by the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey and the Korean American Coalition.
