IIJ Establishes New Subsidiary Net Chart Japan Inc.Tokyo, Japan, Oct 2, 2006 - (JCN) - Internet Initiative Japan Inc., one of Japan's leading Internet access and network solutions providers, today announced its establishment of Net Chart Japan Inc. Japan Inc. A nickname for the corporate world of Japan that came about during the 1980s boom, when Western business people saw how closely the Japanese government worked with its nation's business sector.Notes: The high degree of collusion between Japan's corporate and political sectors led to corruption throughout the system and contributed to the downfall of the overvalued Nikkei. Net Chart Japan Inc. commenced business operations on October 1, 2006, after taking over the business assets, including customers and employees, of Net Chart Japan Corporation. Net Chart Japan Inc. will provide network construction primarily related to Local Area Networks (LANs), such as installation and configuration of equipment, wiring following network installation and installation and operational support for applications. IIJ and Net Chart Japan Inc. will collaborate in the rapidly expanding network construction market. Althought the relationship is expected to enhance the IIJ Group's sales force in Kanagawa Kanagawa (känä`gäwä), prefecture (1990 pop. 7,980,421), E central Honshu, Japan. Yokohama is the capital. Other important cities include Kawasaki, Yokosuka, and Kamakura (a religious center). The urban belt of the eastern part of the prefecture merges with Tokyo to the north. prefecture, IIJ does not predict any material impact on its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007 as a result of the deal.
