 Corp., the restaurant franchise, outlined last week plans to boost its number of stores by 25 percent in the next five years, at an analysts meeting held in Baltimore Baltimore, city (1990 pop. 736,014), N central Md., surrounded by but politically independent of Baltimore co., on the Patapsco River estuary, an arm of Chesapeake Bay; inc. 1745. .

Executives of the Glendale-based IHOP, known for its International House of Pancakes chain, said at the meeting it planned a total of 620 restaurants by 1996, a net increase of 165 from today. About 45 existing restaurants will be closed in the same time.

IHOP sales, year-to-date through October, are running 7 percent ahead of last year, capping nine full years of revenue growth, said IHOP executives at the meeting.
