IGEL Technology Announces the World's Most Capable Digital Services Thin Clients with the Enhanced Premium and Winestra Series.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- IGEL Technology, the world's fastest growing major thin client vendor, today announced that it has enhanced its Premium and Winestra product lines. The new Premium series delivers the broadest range of digital services on the market today, such as VoIP and Java, as well as server-based Windows access, video streaming and native access to SAP.

As a result, customers benefit from a level of multi-functionality that was not possible previously. The features found in the IGEL Premium line represent the future of thin client computing."

The IGEL Premium series is designed for the most demanding environments that require maximum performance, rich digital services, smart card security and hardware expandability. Supporting Linux and Windows XPe operating systems, the IGEL Premium series includes a SIP VoIP client1 to access corporate VoIP-based telephone networks, a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to run Java applications locally, and a local native SAP client2 eliminating the need for a PC or server-based environment to host the SAP GUI.

In addition, the IGEL Premium series includes an integrated smart card reader/writer designed for shared desktop environments, which enables greater security, while giving users the freedom to roam between terminals. Display capabilities have also been improved with resolution of up to 1920 x 1440 (DVI: 1600 x 1200) and dual monitor capability as standard features. Based on the latest VIA C7[TM] processor and CN700 chipset with VIA V4 bus technology, the new Premium series provides an average 30 percent performance improvement over previous generations.

All versions of the IGEL Premium series come bundled with the IGEL Remote Manager Suite so IGEL clients can be managed remotely, saving time and money. It has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $619 plus tax.

In addition to the Premium series, IGEL today announced the upgrade of its IGEL Winestra product line supporting Linux, Windows XPe and CE operating systems. The Winestra series also enables a wide range of digital services, including mainframe terminal emulation access so that users can connect easily to almost any green-screen application environment. It is also ideal for environments where peripherals, such as a token ring, are required.

Carrying identical features to the Premium, but without the integrated smart card reader and with reduced processing power, the Winestra is available at a competitive MSRP of $479 plus tax.
