 Green program, which focuses on ways communities can give back to the environment, the campaign raised money to plant memorial tree groves in towns where the stores are located.

"Customers felt very positive about Patriot Trees. They were behind it from the beginning," says Mike Cormier, who manages Adam's Super Food IGA in West Hartford, Connecticut

. Adam's Super Food raised more than $6,000 for the campaign.

During the campaign IGA cashiers asked customers to add a dollar to their total purchase. With the funds raised, groves of AMERICAN FORESTS' Historic Trees will be planted in the stores' local communities in remembrance of the September 11 victims and heroes.
